

Maricela was born in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico to Andres and Henrietta Monge on September 25, 1955. She was the middle child, having one older brother and one younger sister. She studied in Tijuana and in Chula Vista. She graduated from Castle Park High School and attended Southwestern College.
Her career centered in customer service, holding jobs in retail and then for the City of Chula Vista Chamber of Commerce Visitor's Center, her favorite.
In 1991 she married the love of her life, Bruce Edward Lalor, who originated from Long Island, New York. They were blessed with thirteen happy years of marriage. He predeceased her in 2004.
Maricela was once described as being a "firecracker with a beautiful soul". She loved life and lived it to the fullest. Her family and friends always had a fun time when Maricela came around to visit. She loved to entertain them with her singing and lively jokes. Her hobbies included photography and various arts and crafts. Her favorite vacations were those taken with her beloved husband Bruce to the east coast, in particular New York City.
Maricela is survived by her mother, Henrietta Monge, her siblings, Andres Monge and Martha Monge. In addition, surviving Godchildren; David Zseles, Sean Zseles, Jackie Zseles and Tammy Zseles. Her two surviving nephews Edgar Carrales and Alexandro Monge.
A visitation and celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Humphrey, 753 Broadway, Chula Vista, California 91910. A prayer service will start promptly at 6:30 p.m. in the Serenity Chapel.
A private service will be held Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband.
