

Mark Darrell Aseron Leyba, age 33, of Chula Vista, California passed away suddenly on Thursday January 25, 2018. Mark was born August 14, 1984 in San Diego, California. Mark was the firstborn son to parents Rodel and Bella Leyba.
Mark graduated from Eastlake High School. He furthered his studies at Grossmont Health Occupations Center and the University of Nevada Las Vegas studying psychology before deciding on a career in the Pharmaceutical industry. He worked as a Pharmacy Technician for Rite Aid prior to his passing.
Mark is survived by his parents; Rodel and Bella Leyba, his two siblings; Michael and Jennifer Leyba, his fiancée Kimberly Umayam, and his grandfather Amador Leyba. In addition, surviving him is his extended family of aunts, uncles, numerous cousins and life-long friends.
All who had to opportunity to know Mark will remember him as a deeply devoted man to his family, his fiancée and particularly to his faith. He served as an usher for Mater Dei Catholic Church for approximately 3 years. Mark had many favorite hobbies and keeping up with all the latest computerized gadgets was definitely a top choice as he upgraded his cell phone, tablet and computer yearly. He also enjoyed being outdoors as any native San Diegan would. Beach sunsets at Coronado and Sunset Cliffs ranked high on his list. He excelled at playing tennis and miniature golf; always ready for a game. When indoors, his interests took him to various video games ranging from "Super Mario" to "Guitar Hero" to "Dance Dance Revolution". His other interests included listening to music and playing poker or blackjack with his good luck charm (Kim) by his side. Mark will be greatly missed and remembered as a shining light whose flame burned out too soon. His thoughtfulness and contagious laugh will never be forgotten. Heaven has gained another angel.
A two day visitation and celebration of life for Mark will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and on Friday, February 2, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel, Chula Vista, 753 Broadway, Chula Vista, California 91910. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on both nights. A funeral mass will occur Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at Mater Dei Catholic Church, 1571 Magdalena Ave, Chula Vista, California 91913. Following the mass there will be a procession to his eternal resting place at Glen Abbey Memorial Park, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, California, 91902.
