I have over 40 years of memories that are like a freeway in my mind that is occurring everyday. I don't have one memory that stands out over any of my other one's because they are all good. You never had one unkind word to say to me even though I was bad in my younger years. I do have one story that I never shared with anyone. You we're the nicest looking man on our street. I remember admiring you. I had decided one year that I was going to save up my money to buy you a pool stick I think so that I could steal you from your wife Mrs. Rangel. Although, I didn't really understand about wives and things of that nature, I knew that I had to wait until I became a woman. I figured that I would be a woman by my next birthday so when my birthday came, I asked my mother if she felt that I was a woman yet. I was crushed to hear my mom say that not only am I not a woman but it would take over 15 years before I would become a woman. That I was the day that I realized that turning six doesn't make you a woman. It's hilarious when I think about how young and goofy I was. At least I got to enjoy having you and Mrs. Rangel as second parents to me.
I also got to use that saved money on bags of chamoy, chaca chaca, and saladitos. I will always love you and just prepare Clavelita Street in Heaven for us all when we come to join you.

My Grandpa always had jokes! He also always had nicknames. His nickname for me was “ugly”. I’m not sure why though (haha). He would call me, his first granddaughter, “Hey, Ugly” and in was in the most endearing way! I will miss his sense of humor and lighthearted nature. I will miss the way he lit up a room with his dance moves. I will miss his patient, forgiving and unconditional love. I will miss watching how much he cared for his children and how much love he expressed towards his grand and great grandchildren. I will miss him bragging about everything he has worked for because he was such a hard worker and he earned it! I will miss him teaching me billiards (Grandpa-I promise my 8 ball will always be a bank shot!). I will especially miss not being able to make new memories with him. But I will never forget and always cherish the memories we did make when he was here. I had a lovely childhood and he was a huge part of it. Thank you, grandpa, for setting that “daddy” and “grandpa” bar high - I love you so much. You’re a special soul.

My grandfather will always be the strongest, most intelligent, trustworthy and selfless person I'll ever meet. I have always admired every thing about him. I have not a single bad thing to say about this man and in this world that's extremely rare to come by. I've learned so much from him and will forever carry over my knowledge just like he did. He never let anything stop him. I admired his strong mind most of all.
I took after so much from you and I'm eternally greatful. Although I'll always miss you more than words could ever describe, you will forever be with me in spirit, grampy. I love you.
