Narciso “Ching” Briones
Loving husband and devoted father and grandfather, Narciso Briones, 69, passed away peacefully in his Chula Vista home on Nov 16, 2012 with his family at his bedside. He had endured a bravely fought battle with cancer.

After serving 20 years, Narciso was honorably discharged in 1987. He then began work as an electrician for the Marine Corps. Recruit Depot in San Diego for another 24 years.
A devout Catholic, Narciso instilled in his family the importance of religion as a moral compass and continually demonstrated the power of prayer and faith.
“My husband was a firm believer that a family that prays together, stays together,” said Fatima Briones, his wife of 41 years.
Narciso loved cooking, going on road trips, as well as playing and watching basketball. In his short retirement, he enjoyed doing crossword and sudoku puzzles, playing solitaire, was an avid watcher of the Game Show Network and The Filipino Channel, and was happiest at home spending time with his family.

Dear Uncle Ching,
We miss you very much. First, I must THANK YOU for your service to this country. You served honorably while maintaining strong family bond. You and Auntie did a GREAT job raising successful, yet grounded, smart, funny, caring children. They were so strong for us when my mom passed, only one week after you were laid to rest. I know you are so proud of them and loved them with all your heart!!! I'm sure you are watching down on them...I will remember all the big family Vegas trips and the summers at Manos. Thank you for never yelling at us bratty kids and always telling us to eat and drink.Thank you for always visiting my mom. You two would sit and talk about your ailments. Not complaining, but it was like therapy for both. Please give my mom a hug for me in Heaven. We miss you UNCLE CHING!!!!!

He welcomed me into his family with open arms. A truly unselfish person who always put others' well being before himself. A role model for me to become a better father to my own children. He will forever be missed.
