Paula Louise Zumstein

July 31, 1922July 4, 2019

Paula Louise Zumstein, 96 of San Diego, CA, passed away July 4, 2019.

She was born in Pomona, CA on July 31, 1922.

She was married to Joseph Zumstein on October 8, 1939. (69 years of marriage)

In addition to fulfilling various duties on the dairy, Paula was a hardworking "homemaker" in every sense of the word - cook, baker, housekeeper, seamstress, gardener, crafter - but above all she worked the hardest at being a loving and loyal wife, mother, grandmother, and caregiver to all.

Paula's number one passion seemed to be caring for others. Everything she did, from baking a myriad of cookies to mailing birthday cards with the perfect hand-written sentiments, was done to make others feel loved. She seemed to find the most joy in conversations with family members near and far and watching her great grandchildren play and eat treats! A gift hat Paula has always given to those who know her is the gift of laughter Her sarcastically witty and sassy comments kept her family smiling even during her last days.

She was predeceased by her spouse Joseph Zumstein (2009) and children Louise Wick, Emily Zumstein, and Louie W. Zumstein. She is survived by her son Joseph Zumstein Jr., grandchildren Bernie Wick, Timothy Wick, Louie J. Zumstein Malolo Childress, Lindsay Stump, 11 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

Great Aunt Paula always had a bright smile and warm greeting to share. And was a joy to be around. We were blessed to have her as family and friend.
Happy I got to see her this past year.

Tim and Family, our sincere sympathy is with all of you ! Tim I always loved hearing you tell some story about your Gramma. I also felt honored that I got to use her stool to climb into your truck! Take care, we know it has been a trying time! Sorry we could not be there with you at the service today.

My favorite memory of grandma was sitting at the table playing cards or games as a child.Grandma always made time to sit down and play a good game with me.If it was her witty charm to make me laugh.Grandma i will truly miss you.You loved unconditionally and always wanted happiness for all.No matter what you accepted me for my flaws and all.I am lucky to have had you in my life. You were the heart and soul of our family.
Im happy your with Dad,grandpa,And your daughters in heaven. May you rest in peace.
