Dearest friends,
As i remember my late Best Friend, Patty Poch' [sister to Phyllis[ passing today May 31st. [27 years, and i still miss her beyond expression]...i find out that dear Phyllis passed last summer. i remember her so fondly. i remember so often visiting her with Patty. All her beautiful Roses, and her adorable doggie, whose name i have forgotten. i remember visiting Leta, who i called Grandma. i have so many memories that flood to the surface, So many others from the family--Oscar of course! Grant, Melody, Barbara and Wil. Sonny/Harry and Emily --and all their kids. Some of my most special memories center around those times when i lived in California and Patty was my best friend, my sister and was like a mother to me, as well. i only wish she could have lived as long as dear Phyllis and Grandma Leta. Phyllis was so funny and bright--i always enjoyed our visits. My love to all! xoxoxox

You are the beautiful lotus blossom that bloomed from the muck that was my life 35 years ago. Thank you for adopting me and holding me close. 

You told me we are connected by a golden thread. That thread remains unbroken becuause of the love and wisdom you gave to me.   I wouldn't be the person I am today if it wasn't for your love. You told me you are proud of me and that is all that matters. 

We are living in tall cotton now!  I love you, I love you, I love you. What more can I say? 

 I'll always remember Mama Phyllis my second mother I remember the words Mama Phyllis always said to me I promised your mother I'll watch over you while your mother is gone I love you Mom and I'm going to miss you I love you mostess I can remember that's what we used to always say to each other to see who said it first now I have two angels watching over me my mom and my second mom mama Phyllis

[ The Rubaiyat of Phyllis Nollet ]  Her grip on my hand loosened, and my Mother, like an Arab in the night, struck her tent and stole silently into the vast expanse...leaving behind all those who will love her forever...………...and the footprints of a dancer, in the sands of time.  She gave me 62 years of unconditional love, and left a void that can't be filled. Love you mom !


I have known the Hurt family for a long time. I came to know Phyllis thru Melody. She gave the warmest welcome, sweetest smile and genuine loving hugs. People tend to say generic niceties, but as I remember her, and read thru the other memories, it's all true. Of how she was a talented, loving, kind, encouraging lady. Always loved my hugs and sweet kiss  from her. She would hold my face with her hands. 
I will miss you sweet lady. 😔
But we will see each other on the Jesus side of the sky😍

I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to share twelve years of my life with such an amazing woman that I truly loved as if she was my mother.  Since the first day I met her, she won my heart with her sweetness that never went away!  Every day with her and Grandpa Oscar was amazing and even though I had to cross the border daily and sometimes it took hours, it was all worthwhile because when I arrived at her house, I was greeted by a smile with love she shared with me that made me feel special.  She always told me how much she loved me and I always told her how much I loved her.  She was one of a kind, sometimes when I arrived she would say to me how pretty I looked but sometimes she would tell me she hated that blouse. Hahaha!  It is like we could read each other’s mind and we always coincided with the breakfast that she wanted and we would laugh.  Actually, we laughed about everything, as simple as it could be.  She loved watching TV but when she would get bored, I would tell her, “Come-on Grandma, let’s go to see the ocean” and we would drive over and admire the beauty of it and that gave her peace. She loved going to Tijuana to have her hair done and then to eat Chinese Food.  One of the many special moments was when she wanted to go to the cemetery to visit my mom and she would talk to her and tell her “Thank you for letting me have your daughter taking care of me like me like she took care of you”.  It was so funny that when we were at the border crossing back, she would say “No, gracias” to all of the vendors offering us things to buy.  She definitely was part of our family and was invited to all occasions where she enjoyed our fiestas and concerts. Once we had a Frida Khalo party and when we were all dressed up, she did not like my hair and told me that I did not know how to do my hair even though I was a Mexican and she took over and did my hair. We laughed so much! I have so many stories to tell but I think I don’t have the space.

My train of life is amazing!  On my train I have had the blessings of riding it with so many wonderful people as my family, friends, and people that have become my family.  In this case, Grandma was one of the best accompanist along with our family.  She immediately got on my train with those beautiful blue eyes and with her joy that impacted everyone. She was with us in the good and in the bad times, she came to our family gatherings in her wheelchair smiling and being such a sweet and caring grandma to all of us. I really did have her as my third grandma and I felt her love along with our children and grandchildren who ran to give her a kiss her. She loved our family concerts and family gatherings and will always be remembered with love. 

 Grandma Phyllis was a blessing to our family, she had the best stories and her personality and humor was amazing! I always enjoyed visiting her and listening to her awesome adventures while we had coffee. My Mom had the best 12 years of her life with her and I am forever grateful for loving my Mom and family the way she did! We’ll love you forever Grandma! 

Wow.  When I found out "Grandma Olive"  passed to the other side I immediately felt her embrace and love for me, and my mother.   I remember her beautiful caring eyes and sweet sass!!!  The 70's couches with the two collies and grilled cheese!!!  I am sure she was a mother and grandmother  to many in her wonderful, love filled life.  Bless you Nollet Family...bless you.

Your were such a glowing example , you shared your light and love with everyone.  I will try to carry that light  with me mom......always.


Ms Phyllis was a very kind and sweet lady. She was definitely  one of God's
Warriors here on earth. Our love and prayers go out to her families.

There are no words as to how much I will miss Mom. Every time I would visit we would have lengthy  conversations  and I'd  leave learning so much more. I am blessed to have known such a great person. I love you even more.

Phyllis was a sweet lady, and a wonderful friend.  Spending time with her made time in between disappear.  We will miss her fun and gracious personality.  Much love to the family.
