Rachel Mary Gutierrez of Chula Vista, CA passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at the age of 73 years old. Rachel was a native San Diegan and was born on July 15, 1943. She is survived by her loving family, husband Rudy L. Gutierrez of 56 years, sons Rudy Jr, Elias, Mario, daughters Consuelo Tolbert, Rachel Lepe, 18 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren 7 siblings brothers Ron, Albert, Elias and sisters Yolanda, Priscilla, Arcina.
Rachel had a long career over twenty years for the Sweetwater school district as a Cafeteria worker for Mar Vista High School. Rachel was a loving, kind and compassionate person. She was a very outgoing person and loved to go hiking, camping and being with her family. Her family said she loved to cook and made the best Tamales during Christmas Season.
A viewing will take place on Monday, February 6, 2017 from 5:00-9:00pm at Funeraria Del Angel Humphrey and a funeral mass on Tuesday, February 7th at 12:30pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Chula Vista, CA.
