She leaves behind her loving husband Pedro Magallanes and 5 sons: Claudio of Chula Vista, Hugo of San Juan Capistrano, Mario of San Diego, Hector of Chula Vista and Fernando Rhine who resides with her husband at their home. She also leaves behind three sisters and a younger brother: Theresa Martin from Moreno Valley, Ca. and Linda Valero de Pacheco from Guadalajara, Mexico, Elisa Contreras from Culver City, Ca. and Ezequiel Pacheco Jr. from Santa Monica, Ca. She will be missed most for her passion for life, enjoyment of music, her faith in God almighty and most of all, the love for her family.
Ramona was born to Ezequiel & Maria Luz Pacheco: Ramona was the oldest of five children. Having lost her parents at a young age, she become both mother and father to her siblings.
She married the oldest son of Roman & Maria de Jesus Magallanes and began a family of three boys: Claudio, Hugo Roman and Ismael in Tijuana after coming from Mexico in the early 1950's. They all moved to Chula Vista and gave birth to another 3 children: Mario, Hector and Fernando Rhine. An accident would claim the life of their infant child Ismael at the tender age of 2. This trial would soon prove that all one truly needs is a loving husband and a handful of loyal friends to get one through the hardest times.
In the 1970's they moved to their current home on Ebersole Drive where she spent her life with life long friends: Oralia Haywood, Rosario Marmion and Chelo Garcia
She was the foundation that held the family together. She studied Floral arranging and started a home business in her spare time. The years were good to her as she had a vibrant personality and made friends easily everywhere she went. She had a smile and laughter that were infectious. She loved people and found it easy to create friends. She even found the time to learn English while raising her 5 boys. Dad worked long hours and again she become both mother and father to her own boys. She was a fantastic cook, resourceful in every way and possessed a beautiful sense of creativity. Visitors and neighbors were always welcomed. She was involved with Our Lady of Mount Carmel and Our Lady of Guadalupe in creating Easter baskets for poor children by helping to bring joy to local orphanages and visiting families in nearby Tijuana. She truly lead a happy, active and productive life.
