

He was born in California on February 6, 1933.
Richard received his GED and enlisted in the United States Army in 1950 where he proudly served his country for 20 years which included The 38th Parallel North and South Korea Company B, and 728th Military Police Battalion.
After retiring from the military, he became Postmaster at the United States Postal Service for 18 years.
He was married to Jane Polkinghorne in July 1989 and is survived by she, their daughter Jane Victoria Polkinghorne, his son Jack Polkinghorne, his daughter Denise Czer, his son Kevin Polkinghorne, 6 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.
Richard loved the Lord and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with others. He enjoyed worship service and gospel music, and was was a loving Christian, Husband, and Father to his children.
He was a true Patriot and took great pride in serving the country that he loved and was proud of, the United States of America. He was grateful to the US Army for instilling within him character, discipline, and loyalty to country.
Richard was deeply loved and is sorely missed but we take comfort in knowing that he is in paradise with his Lord and Savior.
Until we are reunited with him in the presence of Christ at our appropriated time, we carry his loving memory in our hearts and minds.
