Bob and I became friends for a few years beginning with our each being members of the Birmingham Unitarian (Universalist) Church (BUC) in SE MI; until he moved to CA, where I once visited him in Coronado.  

First learning here of his military experience tells me another of Bob's multi-dimensions; and I heartily second the memory as above by JMessersmith: "Bob's commentary and insights were always thoughtful. He had sharp mind and carried himself with dignity."

I feel very honored to have had the privilege of getting to know and admire Bob and Louise through the Blackhorse Book Club.  They often served as wonderful hosts in their home.  Bob's commentary  and insights were always thoughtful.   He had sharp mind and carried himself with dignity.  My regret is that Bob's last chapter was so challenging and difficult.  Rest in peace.

My wonderful step-father, Bob Collie, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening in his home with his wife, Louise Goodman, at his side.  He will be missed by all who knew him.
