Royal DeMoss Harvey

March 16, 1926 to October 14, 2010

Roy Harvey was an adored husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend was peacefully reunited with the Lord the morning of October 14th 2010.

Born in Riverside California, raised in El Centro California met and married his high school sweetheart, Helen Dawson in 1945.

Roy is survived by his wife Helen and their two children, Sharon (Fred) Kruse and Roy (Ronsie) Harvey, five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Margaret and youngest brother Donnie.

Roy was a WW II veteran serving with the Army AirCorp, as a flight engineer aboard B-17’s. Following the war Roy was employed by Pacific Bell for 37 years retiring in 1982.

An adored man, Roy was a voracious reader, traveled the U.S. and abroad, enjoyed fishing with his son and had a love for aviation.

Roy was a long-standing member of the Alpine Community church serving on many committees and as a trustee. A celebration service will be held on Wednesday October 20th, at 1:00 at the Alpine Community church located at 2225 Victoria Dr. Alpine, Ca. Reception to follow at the church. A private interment will be held at Fort Rosecrans at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alpine Community church or the San Diego Hospice & Palliative Care in the name of Roy Harvey.
