Simona de la Torre Uybungco, 93, died on August 25, 2026. Born October 8, 1932, Simona was a beloved presence whose life was marked by devotion, faith, and a kind heart that touched those around her. A resident of San Diego, California, she will be remembered with deep respect and enduring affection.
Simona was a devoted military wife, steadfast in her support and commitment. Her faithful spirit was evident in her love of church, and her warmth and kindness were felt in the simple, meaningful ways she cared for others and for the life she built with her family.
She found joy in the everyday—tending her garden with special affection for roses, enjoying time at the casino, and, in quieter moments, watching baseball. These interests reflected a life lived with steady appreciation, gentle strength, and gratitude for the moments that brought comfort and happiness.
Simona is survived by her sons: Carlos Uybungco Jr., Joseph Uybungco, David Uybungco, and Mathew Uybungco. She was preceded in death by her son, Samuel Uybungco. 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter.
