Vasco W. Walter, 57, of California, passed away on September 19, 2026. He was born on April 4, 1969, in California.
Vasco was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather. On September 25, 1999, he married the love of his life, Miriam, in a Baptist church in San Diego. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised three children, William, Warren, and Myles, who were among the greatest joys of his life. He was also a loving grandfather to his amazing grandson, David, who brought another special kind of joy and love into his life. Vasco treasured being Grandpa and the memories they shared will always be cherished.
Vasco had a special way of making people feel like family. He was a jokester with a wonderful sense of humor and had a gift for making anyone smile. Whether he was surrounded by relatives, friends, or his children and grandson, he always found a way to bring laughter and joy into the room. His family will forever remember his jokes, his stories, and the happiness he brought to those around him.
He had many passions and interests that made him uniquely Vasco. His favorite color was red, and one of his lifelong dreams was to become a NASCAR driver—a dream he often talked about with his children. He loved good food, especially Mexican, Italian, and Filipino cuisine, with palabok and pancit among his favorites.
Vasco also loved the simple comforts of life. He was a devoted dark-coffee drinker, and his love for dark coffee became one of the little things he shared with Miriam. Over the years, Miriam learned to drink dark coffee too—a small but meaningful reminder of how the two of them influenced and shared life with one another. Even the simplest cup of coffee became something that connected them.
Vasco had a deep appreciation for automobiles and antiques. He enjoyed collecting antiques, especially lowriders, and had a particular love for Cadillacs. His passion for cars was something he enjoyed talking about and sharing with the people he loved. He also loved listening to R&B and hip-hop music.
A lover of adventure, Vasco enjoyed traveling, driving, and spending time surrounded by nature. One of his most cherished recent memories was traveling to Europe and Scotland with Miriam to celebrate their 27th wedding anniversary. The couple had already begun planning their next adventure—to Hawaii—to celebrate their 28th anniversary together.
Vasco dedicated 25 years of his life to working as a security guard and also worked as a front desk associate. Through his work and everyday life, he touched many people with his kindness, humor, and genuine personality.
Above all, Vasco will be remembered for the love he had for his family. He was a husband who cherished his wife, a father who loved his children, and a proud grandfather who treasured his grandson, David. He found joy in the little things—a good cup of dark coffee, a favorite meal, a beautiful drive, a classic Cadillac, music he loved, and conversations with the people who meant the most to him.
Vasco leaves behind his beloved wife, Miriam; his three children, William, Warren, and Myles; and his beloved grandson, David. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will forever be treasured by his family and friends.
Though he is no longer with us, the laughter he shared, the love he gave, and the memories he created will remain in our hearts forever. Every cup of dark coffee, every song, every drive, every family gathering, and every memory shared with his grandson David will carry a little piece of Vasco with it.
Rest in peace, Vasco. You will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.
