Virginia Lee (Ginny) passed away peacefully on September 9, 2014 at her home in Chula Vista with her family by her side. She was born in Chula Vista on March 18, 1927 to Alonzo and Maime Turner.
Ginny lived her entire life in Chula Vista and graduated from Sweetwater High School in 1945. She worked as a Telephone Operator for many years.
Ginny married George “Bud” Milke on April 4, 1952 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Chula Vista. They were married 62 wonderful years and were blessed with six children, 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Ginny was a homemaker in every sense of the word, providing a loving environment for her family all the while nurturing their hearts and minds with the spirit of goodness that only a dedicated wife and mother can provide.
Ginny is survived by her husband Bud and five children: George II, Michael, Steven, Mary, Patricia, 12 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and her sister Fern Heaton.
Ginny was predeceased by her parents, Alonzo and Maime Turner, a daughter Barbara Ann and six sisters: Mary, Louise, Frances, Allene, Grace, Shirley and two brothers Roy and Woodrow.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 19, 2014, St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church at 11:00am with inurnment immediately following at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
