Bill spent most of his childhood in Glendale, California. After serving in both the US Army and the US Coast Guard during WWII, Bill went on to earn BS, MS and PhD degrees from California Institute of Technology in Pasadena.
Bill worked for over 30 years within the US Navy laboratory complex in southern California, from which he retired in 1976. Bill then formed his own technology company, Linear Measurements Inc., over which he maintained control until his retirement in 2006. He spent the majority of the next 10 years having fun.
Dr. Squire was an accomplished scientist and a loving husband and father. He leaves behind his wife Jannette, daughter Lisa and son Mark, stepsons Michael and Robert, daughters-in-law Mary and Victoria, son-in-law Niles, grandchildren Jesse, Kristin (h. Ray), Kimberly (h. Brandon), Nick (w. Jackie), Ashlee and Zachary and great-grandchildren Taylor, Carter, Calvin and Connor.
Throughout his life, Bill travelled many roads but was seldom lost.
