In loving memory of Dennis Fischer, born in 1940 in Langdon, ND, he exemplified patience, kindness, and hard work. As a single father, he successfully raised three boys, a testament to his devotion and strength. Born to Adolph Fischer & Anna Katherine Hell Fischer, he grew up on a farm in Valley City, ND, and graduated from Cathedral High School in St. Cloud, MN, in 1958.
Dennis embarked on a journey of faith, attending the Salvatorian novitiate in Colfax, IA, in 1961, and later studied at Mt. St. Paul College in Waukesha, WI. Transitioning to the Air Force in 1965, he served with dedication, achieving the rank of Sergeant before his honorable discharge in 1971.
Throughout his life, Dennis cherished family. From his marriage to Emelie Petra Sosa, which brought forth his son Christopher Dennis Fischer, to his union with Irene Jean Orr, resulting in the births of Derrick William Fischer and Wayne Adolph Fischer. In 1989, Dennis married Elizabeth Kay Shannon Flanagan, becoming a loving stepfather to her sons Jon Patrick Flanagan, Sean Bryant Flanagan, & Todd Brandon Flanagan. His enduring love with Kay lasted nearly 35 years until his peaceful passing in January 2024.
Dennis's professional accomplishments include business ventures, landscaping at Calvary Cemetery, and culminated in his retirement as an IT Technician from UC Davis in 2006 after 23 years of dedicated service. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched, his unwavering faith, and the love he shared with family and friends.
