Emerson passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at his home in Citrus Heights, CA to be with our Lord and reunited with his family after a long battle with Alzheimer's. He was born in Riverside, New Jersey and was preceded in death by his parents: Edward and Mary; brothers: Joseph, Freeman, Marvin, Walter and Paul; sisters: Elizabeth and Louise. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Rosalie; sons: David (Debra), Donald (Sira), Robert; and daughters: Susan, Louise (Steven), Kasey (Brian); sister-in-law, Gloria Padilla (Ruben); brother-in-law, Steward Eskridge I; grandchildren: Jennifer, Lisa, Ariel, Emily, Madeline, Brittiny, Parisa, Alex, Reilly; great-grandchildren: Sidney, Lina, Zane, Macen; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Emerson served in the United States Air Force from 1951-1955. He and his family came to CA in the early 60's where he was employed by United Airlines, Campbell Soups, Christ the King Retreat Center, and Heritage and Somerset Convalescent Hospitals.
Over the years he enjoyed fishing, baseball, but most of all playing golf. He was an avid Rams fan. Known for his wry sense of humor and his witty clichés, he will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
The family would like to acknowledge Norwood Pines Alzheimer’s Center for their wonderful, loving care of Emerson over the last three years; as well as, Kaiser Permanent and Vitas Hospice.
Memorial Mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church October 17 at 11:00 a.m., 7817 Old Auburn Rd, Citrus Heights CA 95610. Burial will be at a later date.
