Gerald Ralph Carson (also known as Kit, Jerry), passed away peacefully May 22, 2020 with his wife of 38 years and sister by his side. Jerry was born in Wisconsin and grew up in Southern California. Jerry graduated from Capistrano High School. He enjoyed any type of fishing and hunting and always had a Brittany Spaniel by his side.
Jerry was drafted for his trade into the U.S. Army and served in Germany as a mechanic and welder. After his honorable discharge, he became a certified welder and worked with Operating Engineers working on underground development, dams and bridges. His hobbies included carving decoys, realistic ducks and shorebirds. He loved working with his hands. His motto was, “I can fix anything, including a broken heart.”
He was always happy and thankful for every day. He received many awards for his carvings. Jerry belonged to many organizations: PFDA, IWCA, PSDA and many others across the country. He was also a member of The American Legion for 39 years. He never had a bad day. He will be missed.
A celebration of life will be announced.

I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one.
I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.
