
Born 7-11-1943 in Chicago IL to Isadore "Jack" Lasky and Jean Rubin Lasky. Passed in Roseville CA 7-31-2026, age 83. Graduate of Roosevelt High School class of 1961. Attended Northwestern University. While in High school he worked at the family restaurant in Chicago.
Harold spent most of his adult life in the transportation industry, working for various trucking firms and bus companies, including 20 years as dispatcher at Greyhound. As needed he’d take extra side jobs – the one he seemed to enjoy the most was late night pizza delivery person for Laurie’s Pizzeria in Chicago.
He retired in 2005 from Amador Stage Lines as a dispatcher. His assignments took him from Chicago to California to Texas and finally back to California where he and his late wife Barbara settled after his retirement. He was a horse lover and spent a large part of his life riding and breeding horses. He was a member of the Greyhound Retirees Club and the Lincoln Rifle Club, where before his health issues slowed him down he was a regular at the target range.
He is preceded in death by his wife Barbara, parents Jack and Jean Lasky, brother Marshall Lasky, and daughter Stephanie Lupinski. He is survived by his daughter Victoria Barney, 11 grandchildren, 11 (and counting) great grandchildren, his niece Ellyce Ratskoff, nephew Ira Lasky and their families, and his significant other Kathy Petersen.
At his request no services were held. Inurnment was private. Celebration of his life will be held on
August 28, 2026 at 12 noon at Casa del Lago restaurant, 8570 Auburn-Folsom Road, Granite Bay CA.
