Born March 4, 1928, in Cincinnati, Ohio; the youngest of eleven children, passed September 22, 2011, at the age of 83 after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Patricia, and son Daniel. He is survived by sons David (Laurie) and John (Mary), daughter in law Lisa; grand children Nick Martines, Shelley and Richard Ferris. Jack proudly served 20 years in the US Navy and Reserve after graduating from Maryville College. He came to Sacramento in 1964, as part of the management team to open the Formica plant in Rocklin, where he worked until his retirement more thean 30 years later as a "company man". Deeply faithful, Jack was active in his church, especially during his retirement. He was particularly proud of the efforts to distribute food to those in need.
In lieu of flowers gifts in his memory to the American Cancer Society, National Parkinson Foundation, Maryville College or the fund in his name at Northminister Presbyterian Church are welcome.
A memorial service for Jack will be held Saturday, October 29th at 1pm at Northminister Presbyterian Church, 3235 Pope Avenue.
Jack will be missed.
