Kevin Atkinson

September 2, 1963September 8, 2011

Kevin Atkinson courageously lost his long battle with cancer on September 8, 2011. He was 48 years young.

Kevin Atkinson was born in Duncan Oklahoma on September 2, 1963 to the proud parents of Jolene Lamey Atkinson and Billy Atkinson.

He attended grade school in Duncan and graduated from the University of Oklahoma in Norman with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1986. On 1/1/2000, Kevin co-founded INTELIGIT, a successful digital design firm in Sacramento specializing in web site, commercial media, and digital marketing development.

Kevin’s attention to design detail is legendary in the graphics industry. He worked on several high profile web design projects around the world and State of California campaigns. Kevin also helped launch several careers in the emerging digital design field.

Kevin is survived by his wife, Ramona Atkinson; daughter, Ashley Atkinson; brothers, Shanon and Kelly Atkinson; and father, Billy Atkinson. Kevin was predeceased by his mother, Ms. Jolene Lamey.

Kevin will be greatly missed by not only his immediate family, but a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, in-laws (second family) and friends. He was a beautiful person, both inside and out. He was my husband, my business partner, my daughter’s wonderful father, but most of all, he was my friend. I love you Kevin.

A memorial celebration will be held on Sunday, September 18, 2011 at Mayhew Community Baptist Church, 3401 Routier Road, Sacramento CA 95827 at 2:00pm.

It is so sad to learn of Kevin's passing. I knew him from first grade in Ms. DaSilva's class until we graduated Duncan High School in 1981. Kevin had such an amazing talent of drawing at an early age; I was always amazed at his artistic abilities. RIP old friend.
