Maynard Johnson made it to church every Sunday that he was able at Advent Lutheran, and I recall how he'd always make sure to remind the band, after they'd play, of their need to 'up their game'. Tongue-in-cheek of course.

Never got tired of hearing that, and it always brought smiles, for we knew what this gentle man really meant.

Seems we all share gifts right here in our midst, special people who add meaning to our lives. Maynard will be long remembered, for he truly was such a gift.

Maynard was a truly strong, humorous, amazing man!!! He could always make me laugh and smile, no matter what may be going on in my life. He always told me to be strong, it will all pass. He was an amazing man in my life with whom I adored. I will always look up to heaven for his perfect advice and strength for me to continue to be the strong and independent woman he helped me to be today!!!
