or "Pacing" as she is fondly called, passed away at the age of 88 on Friday January 17, 2020. She was born in Manilla, Philippines on October 11, 1931. She is preceded in death by our loving father, Leoncio Abucayan Sr. and her three brothers and two sisters, Macario, Alfredo, Lucena, Frederico and Constancia.
She is survived by her sister Rose and three children, son Leo Ju and his wife Bernadette; daughter Josie and her husband, Resty, and son Roland. She has nine grandchildren: Lori, Joseph, Johnathan, Leejay, Christopher, Leah, Aprilyn, Bobbi, and Toby; and four great-grandchildren, Audrey, Ameelie, Zachary and Oliver.
Pacita and Leoncio moved and immigrated to the United States in April 1973 where they lived in Leavenworth, Kansas to pursue a new life for their family. Though it was a challenging time settling in a new country, our "Mama" kept the family together through all the trials and tribulations that comes with moving, especially, in unfamiliar surroundings. For that we are forever grateful. She loved her family dearly and found pride in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her legacy lives on in each and every one of them.
Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing on Friday January 31st from 4:00pm - 6:00pm. The Viewing/Memorial Service will be held on Saturday February 1st from 9:00 am - 10:30 am.
