Richard was born to Carter and Sadie (Miller) Pyle in Fresno, California and was a lifelong resident of California. He served in the Army during the Korean War and after his military service he attended Fresno State College majoring in agriculture. During this time, he was introduced to his wife of 67 years, Katherine. He worked for USDA, Soil Conservation Service for 30 years, retiring at South Lake Tahoe, California. After retirement he and Katherine lived in Camino and Modesto, ultimately living in the Sacramento area. Richard is survived by Katherine, three children - Leslie, Lindy (Mike), Richard (Kathy) and 4 grandchildren. Burial will be at Belmont Memorial Park in Fresno. The family encourages a donation to your favorite charity or hospice in Richard’s memory in lieu of flowers.
