After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Rodney Lynn Leggett passed away on September 13, 2019 in his family’s loving presence at his home in Cameron Park, CA. Rod was born in Sidney, Nebraska on January 21, 1947 and grew up in the small town of Potter, Nebraska where he graduated from High School. After graduation, his family moved to California where he earned a MBA degree at California State University, Sacramento and began his career as a systems analyst and accounting manager for the Federal government at McClellan Air Force Base. Upon retirement from McClellan, he performed audits for private and State agencies to eventually earn his CPA license before retiring from the State of California. He was a spiritual man who volunteered many hours as Treasurer for El Dorado County Federated Church in Placerville, while at the same time undergoing extensive treatment for his disease. He refused to let cancer slow him down and lived his life to the fullest up to the very end by enjoying his hobbies of golf, fly fishing, camping, traveling, gardening and woodworking.
Rod was preceded in death by his stepson Russell Lynch, his mother Roma Faye Leggett, and his father Harold Leggett. He was survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Cindy Leggett, his son Brian Leggett, his stepson Joseph Lynch, and 7 grandchildren including Parker Leggett, Owen Leggett, Samantha Lynch, Courtney Lynch, Meleah Lynch, Abigail Lynch and Charlize Lynch. The oldest of three siblings, he also leaves behind his two sisters Paula Burda and Gail Davis. He was a wonderfully loving and supportive husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many. Rod set a strong example of how to live a respectful and honorable life and will be deeply missed by all.
