

Ruby was born in Aromas, CA on March 25, 1931 to Benjamin and Lizzie Ruth Navarre. She was the second of three children, with her older sister Dolly (later Dolly Williams) and younger brother Melvin Navarre. As a young child her family moved to Wheatland, CA and then finally to Rocklin, CA around 1940. She was married to John S. Belche on February 8, 1947 at the Finnish Temperance Hall in Rocklin. Later in 1947 Ruby gave birth to the first of her 11 children. As a devoted mother and caregiver, Ruby was well known thorough the community for her love for life and open heart. She was known to always have an extra space (or several) at her table for a friend that was visiting out of town or another entire family that may have been going through hard times. In 1966 the family relocated to Antelope on family property. There, in 1973 they were forced from their home when it was destroyed in the infamous railyard fire and munitions explosions. The family then relocated back to Rocklin where they have been residents since.
Ruby is survived by her children, Rubin Belche, Arlene Belche, Robert Belche, David Belche, Colleen Cascarelli, and Joseph Belche, her 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John S. Belche ; children John Belche Jr., Mark Belche, Charlene Belche, George Belche and Paula Simmons.
The memorial service officiated by Father Michael Dillon will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. at Lamberts Funeral Home located at 400 Douglas Blvd, Roseville, CA 95678, (916) 783-0474. A post-memorial gathering and pot-luck reception will be held immediately following the memorial service at Royer Park located at 190 Park Dr, Roseville, CA 95678. Ruby will be interned at Rocklin Cemetery in a private ceremony at a later date.
