My Eulogy
I loved my grandmother. I was truly loved by her. Ma to all of us grandchildren, family and our innermost circle. Yesterday we laid Ma to rest. Her child like personality and spunk filled the room, you couldn’t help but laugh or smile at something she said, she had the gift of gab, she could talk to anyone, anywhere. Ma was engaging, strangers became friends instantly. She was a beautiful character who always told me, “not to take life so seriously, calm down Tote”. My granddaughter Amiya shares her persona, my grandson, Aydon her gift of gab. I see a little of her, in all of us. I was unable to utter a thing yesterday. I was so happy to see family, cousins and friends join us to celebrate her and hope it’s not too long before we see each other again in one room. I will miss hearing her voice calling me, “Tote”. May her ghost be forever with us. I look forward to the haunting she promised me. Toto

There are so many things that have gone through my mind. I just keep the happy memories close to my heart. You were always so much fun to be around. I remember roller skating with and I loved how you used to whistle to get our attention. You will always be in my heart. I love you, Ma!

Death is so unfair. The scriptures tell us that death is the “last enemy” to be brought to nothing. In the meantime, may your family find comfort in God’s word at Rev 21:4 which says: “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
