It is with profound sadness that we share the news of Jeff Robertson Jr.’s passing, who went home to be with the Lord on Easter Sunday, April 20th, 2025. In a tragic and unintentional event, Jeff passed away at his home in Citrus Heights, where he lived with his beloved mother.
Jeff was born on July 26, 1971, at Mather Air Force Base in Rancho Cordova, California. At the time of his birth, his father, Jeff Robertson Sr., was serving our country in the Vietnam War. His young mother, Kathleen Staker, lived with Jeff’s grandparents, Bill and Ann Wedgeworth, who lovingly helped raise him until his father's return. When Jeff Sr. returned from the war in December of 1971, they lived together in Rancho Cordova in off-base housing. Their family was complete in February of 1975 with the birth of his sister, Jennifer, whom he doted over frequently. And, although Jeff’s parents went their separate ways a couple of years later, many happy memories followed with the Wedgeworth and Robertson families covering him with love and support from Northern to Southern California, along with many family friends made along the way.
Jeff always excelled in school and seemed to do so effortlessly. He graduated from Casa Robles High School in 1990 and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in organizational communications from Sacramento State University in 1997. Jeff was a true adventurer at heart. His vibrant spirit took him across the United States, where he worked as a high-end waiter at various Four Seasons Resorts in destinations like Vail, Colorado, Maui, Hawaii, and finally Teton Village, Wyoming. Later, he built an impressive career abroad, working as a Regional Sales Team Manager for Cisco Webex in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Jeff lived and worked in Amsterdam for over 10 years and made deep friendships that proved to be lasting. Eventually, his family’s encouragement brought him back home, where he continued his career with Amazon Web Services, living and working in San Francisco, California.
To know Jeff was to love him. His kindness, unwavering loyalty, and deep friendship touched everyone around him. Jeff was selfless and generous — the kind of man who would give a stranger the shirt off his back without expecting anything in return. His fun-loving, spunky, and sometimes goofy personality made him unforgettable. Jeff loved the outdoors — hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, snowshoeing, and most recently, sailing. His friends were like family to him, and his love for his family was the foundation of his heart.
Jeff is survived by his mother, Kathleen Staker; his father, Jeff Robertson Sr.; his stepmother, Sandy Robertson; his sister, Jennifer Trainor, and brother-in-law, Mike Trainor; his niece, Jade Pierroz; his nephews, Ryan Trainor and Sam Trainor; and his niece-in-law, Lauren Trainor. He is also survived by many beloved members of the Robertson and Wedgeworth families, his cherished Scottish Fold-eared cat, Freyja, and countless friends who loved him dearly.
While our hearts are heavy with unimaginable grief, we find peace in knowing that Jeff is wrapped in the loving arms of our Heavenly Father for eternity.
