Iris Bianca Cromwell, of Lake Jackson, Texas, passed away on September 24th, 2025, at the age of 27. Iris was born on January 28th, 1998, in Lake Jackson, Texas, to Manuel and Adriana (Guerra) Cardenas.
On January 26th, 2024, Iris married the love of her life, Andrew Cromwell, in Angleton, Texas. Their marriage was a gift to both of them, rooted in laughter, playfulness, devotion, and care. Iris was Andrew’s constant companion. Whether they were at home or out together, they cherished walks, dates, and simple moments just as much as grand adventures. They took care of one another and shared a bond of joy, peace, and love that was unlike anything else. To Andrew, Iris was his everything, his source of comfort, his partner in every way, and the love of his life.
Even as she poured her heart into her marriage, Iris never lost the deep and unshakable love she carried for her parents and brother. Her heart was big enough to hold them all, and she had the wisdom to honor and nurture each relationship without hurting either her husband or her family. The bonds she shared with her mother, father, and brother were unfathomable, and they remained central to her life.
As a young girl, Iris was a playful, fearless, and loving child. She danced through life with a sense of wonder—whether wrestling and playing baseball with her mom, cooking meals side by side with her parents, or sneaking off with her father’s work shoes and hat because she adored him so much. She would dance around the house with her “Pa’,” and climb trees with her “Ma,” filling their home with endless laughter.
Her brother, Manuel, was at the very center of her heart. To Iris, he was not only her brother but also her baby. She wrestled and played with him, shared music, and traded jokes that would fly right over their mother’s head. She could often communicate with her family without speaking at all. Her younger cousins and brother looked up to her as a guide, and she cherished giving them advice, playing with them, and being a constant source of joy and strength. To many of her cousins, she was as close as a sister. Together, as a family, they would dance and cook, creating memories that will last forever.
Iris graduated from Brazoswood High School in 2016. She went on to study Industrial Design at the University of Houston and later earned her associate’s degree in drafting from Brazosport College. Professionally, Iris excelled as manager at several Sherwin-Williams stores, where she was known and admired for her eye for color, her talent for shade matching, and her ability to connect with customers and contractors alike. She left a lasting impression on her colleagues, who will remember her for her dedication and friendship.
A creative soul, Iris was an amazing costume builder and vibrant artist. She loved the beach, the water, nature, rocks, and all of God’s creatures. She was also known to be an enthusiastic RenFair pirate captain who lent her spark to those around her. She led her crew of friends throughout her school days and afterward. You could find her beside a campfire, a drink and a story at the ready. Iris was always up for an adventure, often with her best friend, Jessica.
Iris will always be remembered as the rock, the anchor, and the glue of her family. She was selfless and steady, guiding and encouraging those she loved most. Her unwavering support, presence, and love were the gifts she gave freely.
Iris is preceded in death by her grandparents Pablo Cardens and Adelida (Gomez) Cardenas; her grandfather Omar Guerra; and her mother-in-law, Decie Doiron.
