Bruce Gilbert MacLeod

Bruce Gilbert MacLeod (“Mac”), age 85, of San Francisco, California passed away on Monday, June 12th, 2023. Bruce was born March 21, 1938 to Harold W. MacLeod and Avis V .Rowland. Bruce married his love of his life Donna on October 28, 1962 and they were married for 55 years until she passed away in 2016.

Bruce was a graduate of Galileo High School in San Francisco and enlisted in the US Marines in 1956 after graduation where he served for 4 years before his honorable discharge in 1960 as a Corporal.

Bruce lived a robust life filled with his work until his retirement and had a passion for reading, golf, trains, baseball, and keno. Bruce was an avid golfer in his younger days and was a voracious reader of all things military history and crime mystery whodunits. Bruce volunteered his time recruiting new Marines with the Marine Corp League and supporting the Toys for Tots program, once winning Recruiter of the year.

Bruce will be fondly remembered as a kind man with a huge heart that touched the lives of many.

A memorial service for Bruce will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1000 El Camino Real, Colma, at 10am on July 16, 2023.
