Ofelia Lupe Cardoza

June 11, 1935 - September 23, 2021

Ofelia “Faye” Cardoza, age 86, passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at 1:27am. She was born to Annie and Joseph Clio on June 11, 1935 and was raised in San Francisco.

Ofelia live all over San Francisco until moving into the house on 24th Street in the Mission District in 1969 were she was just know as “Mama” to many of the people she helped.

She raised her 8 children with love and devotion, Maria, Della, Teresa, Ernesto, Inez, Angel, Epigmenio III and Valentina along with her husband Epigmenio Cardoza. She is the proud grandmother to 14 and great-grandmother to 12. She leaves behind a many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that she loved with all her heart.

Along with her teaching us to be strong, doing one’s best, and helping others as much as you can and believing that GOD would protect and help us in return. She will also be remembered for her great cooking, the giant quantities of food she always made and for her ability to make everyone feel welcome even if she had just met them.

Ofelia was preceded in death by her parents: Annie & Joe, her step-father Pedro Torres, siblings: Manuel, Anthony, Connie & Peter, her son Ernesto and grandchildren David, Madison & Casey.

Funeral Services: Viewing will be held on Friday, October 15, 2021 from 3:00 - 7:00pm and Saturday, October 16, 2021 from 8am – 12:00pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 1000 El Camino Real, Colma, CA, 94014

Ofelia’s Family would like to extend our gratitude to all those who shared in Ofelia's life: good times, bad times, love, tears but mostly laughter.

The family would also like to acknowledge with deep appreciation to Ofelia’s Medical Team for the expressions of love, concerns and kindness shown to her throughout the years.
