A lifelong lover of knowledge, Yun enjoyed classical literature, science fiction, and mathematics. His sharp mind and warm presence turned every conversation—whether about elegant proofs, beloved books, or memories of China—into something memorable.
He is survived by his wife Carla; children Gina, Liane, and Jacob; grandchildren Ali, Maryam, and Ahmed; and sister Margaret Wong. We will remember his wit, his extensive book collection, and the quiet ways he showed love.
Yun faced life’s hardships with resilience, always putting family first. He is now at peace, reunited with his parents, Shu and Jing Chan, and sister, Gemma Chan.
A viewing and burial will be held June 18, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Colma.
We will miss him dearly. May we honor him by living with the same curiosity and kindness he shared so freely.
