Adelita Ceballos, 70 of Colorado City went to be with her Lord on February 16, 2021 after a stay at the Odessa Regional Medical Center. She was born in Colorado City, Texas on August 13, 1950 to Eulalio and Cristela (Estella) Ornelas. Adelita was a graduate of Colorado ISD and worked for them after graduating for nearly 50 years as a Paraprofessional, creating a brighter future for our community. On August 12, 1972 Adelita married the love of her life Ernest Ceballos in the old Saint Ann’s Catholic Church of Colorado City, TX. Ernest and Adelita probably set a record for the biggest wedding party with 50 bridesmaids, and a groomsman for each. She was a woman who was very devout in her faith, dedicated to the Catholic Church, and never afraid to get on her knees and pray for her family, her friends, and her community. She was the perfect example of what a wife should be, a great mother, a better grandmother, and the best role model a child could have. She was the type of woman that saw the good in everybody, who taught her family to love those around them as if they were family, and to give to those without, when you had extra. She would be best described as smart, strong, good willed, supportive, empathetic, humble, and a fashionista. She was the kind of woman that liked to dress to impress and had a sense of style and fashion. Adelita could do just about anything she put her mind to. She enjoyed cooking for the family, helping her church, going dancing, and listening to her music. She had a beautiful singing voice and love harmonizing with others. You could find her many nights swimming with the family after the sun went down. Many family members were privileged to have learned some of her cooking techniques, and to have received hand-sewn clothes for school when they were younger. The lessons she taught to all around her will live on for years to come, and the love she shared will never be forgotten. Adelita is survived by her loving husband Ernest Ceballos of Colorado City, by a son Avan Ceballos and wife Lupita of Snyder, by her daughters Tammy Ceballos of Colorado City, Jeanette Silva and husband Daniel of Colorado City, and Edwina Castillo and husband Julian of Imperial Texas, her grandchildren Jadrian Dominguez, Nathan Ceballos, Josiah Silva, Jaida Silva, Lorena Castillo, Krystella Castillo, and Lucas Castillo, and by great-grandchildren Ayden Dominguez, Jaxon Dominguez, Kovan Dominguez, Emberly Dominguez, and Lee Opal Ceballos. Also surviving is a brother Gabriel Ornelas Sr. and wife Becky of Colorado City, and 2 sisters Alicia Moreno and husband Tanis Moreno Sr. of Colorado City, and Amanda Carrisalez and husband Carlos of Big Spring, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and by sisters Angela Ornelas and Armelinda Ornelas. A Mass of Christian Burial for Adelita will be held at Saint Ann’s Catholic Church with Father Michael Udegbunam officiating at 10 am on Wednesday, February 24th with burial to follow in the Mitchell County Cemetery. The family will be present for a visitation on Tuesday, February 23rd from 6-8 pm in the Kiker Seale Funeral Home Chapel with a rosary to be performed at 7pm.
