

Colorado City- Ms. Angelita A. Barrera, age 89, passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at Mitchell County Hospital in Colorado City. Family will receive friends on Friday, February 12, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Oak Street Baptist Church in Colorado City with Gene Self and Rev. Jackie Brem officiating and burial will be in the Loraine Cemetery.
Angelita was born October 18, 1920 in Davis, Oklahoma to Luciano Arzate and Mary Franco Arzate. She was a longtime resident of Mitchell County, Texas and a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
She is survived by 3 sons, Ben Barrera and wife, Adelina of Big Spring, Simon Barrera and wife, Christina of Big Spring and Abel Barrera of Charlotte, North Carolina; 2 daughters, Amelia Gray of Colorado City and Nena Self and huband, Gene of Colorado City; 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 0ne great-great grandchild; brother, Luicano Arzate of Orange County California; sisters, Luisa Little of Honey Grove, Texas, Flora Jones of California and Esther Rainer of California.
She is preceded by her husband, Allen Barrera, parents, 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
