He was born on November 16, 1947 in Platue Texas to Manuel and Petra Rodriguez Melendez.
Arturo, affectionately known as Tata by his grandchildren was a hard-working Christian man who loved his family with all his heart. He worked for TXDoT for over 30 years until retiring in the early 2000’s. He enjoyed staying busy, and decided to fill his time working at Lone Wolf Resources. He was a long-time member of the 22nd and Austin church of Christ where he routinely professed his faith. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, carpentry, woodcrafting, making jewelry from coins, and making glasses out of old bottles. He was also an avid coin collector.
