She was born October 8, 1926 in Loraine to Orrion Jackson Linam and Mattie Leona Linam. Married Presley Powell April 20, 1947. Billie worked 24 years and retired from Petroleum Information in Midland as the accounting manager for the log and division of Dun and Bradstreet of New York.
Billie was a member of the Loraine Methodist Church which she joined as a young child. She played the organ and volunteered at several of the senior citizen centers. Billie also worked with the Loraine Bulldogs homecoming committee, which was fitting as she was a 1943 graduate of Loraine.
She is survived by nephews Dave Linam, Steve Linam, Mike Linam, John Linam, Duane Linam and wife Martha Linam, and by nieces Jill Holt, Melanie Matthys, and Stephanie Ladwig. She is also survived by a sister-in-law Sue Linam.
Billie was preceded in death by her parents Orrion and Mattie Linam, her husband Presley Powell, and by her two brothers Talmadge Linam and Tommy Duane Linam.
The family will be present for a visitation on Tuesday, October 27th from 6-8 pm in the Kiker Seale Funeral Home.
A funeral will be held at 10 am at the Loraine Methodist Church on Wednesday October 28th with Pastor Horrace Abbott officiating. Burial will follow in the Loraine Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers those wishing may make a donation in her memory to the Loraine Methodist Church.
