She was born in San Antonio to Candelario and Juanita Gonzalez Corona on July 16, 1958.
Carmen was a family first woman who loved her husband, children, and grandchildren with all her heart. While she could come across as tough, strong willed, and opinionated, deep down she was one of the most tender caring ladies you could find. Many people would remember her as their local Avon rep, while many others would remember seeing her striking up a conversation and introducing herself, as she never met a stranger. If you saw her out it was guaranteed that her hair and makeup were done. In her spare time she enjoyed listening to music, cleaning her car, and collecting nick-nacks.
Carmen is survived by her husband Manuel Gonzales of Colorado City, a son Hunter Gonzales of Colorado City, and by daughters Tabitha Mclerran and husband Jonathan of Teague, Veronica Gonzales Samaniego and husband Joshuaf of Odessa, and Nadia Gonzales of Austin. She is also survived by grandchildren Dallas Martinez and Delmontre Atkins, by a sister Elena Barrientes of Abilene, by a host of fur-babies, and by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Candelario and Juanita Corona, by brothers Guadalupe Corona and Charlie Corona, and by a sister Connie Nava.
A graveside service for Carmen will be held in the Mitchell County Cemetery on Saturday, October 18th at 11 am with pallbearers Hunter Gonzales, Delmontre Atkins, Dallas Martinez, Jonathan Mclerran, Gregory Gonzalez, and Emilano Gonzalez carrying her to her place of rest.
The family will be present for a visitation on Friday, October 17th from 6-8pm in the Kiker Seale Funeral Home Chapel with a rosary to follow at 8pm
