Curtis Shaw, 84, passed away at The Good Life Senior Living facility in Snyder, TX on Friday, February 28, 2020. Funeral services for Mr. Shaw will held Monday, March 2, 2020 at 1pm at the Kiker-Seale Funeral Home in Colorado City, TX. Curtis was born on March 9, 1935 in Ben Wheeler, TX to L.R. and Lucille Shaw. He later moved to China Grove where he married Elsie Mize on August 14, 1958 and raised two sons, Jon and Todd, and a daughter, Lana. Curtis or “Da” (as known by the family) was a long-time cotton farmer in Mitchell County. He loved to fish and hunt and enjoyed getting together with family and friends to pick a little guitar. He will be remembered by his sense of humor and unconditional love for his 3 children, 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, his parents, 4 brothers, a sister, his son, Todd Shaw and daughter, Lana Culpepper, a daughter-in-law, Debbie Shaw and a son-in-law, Bob Culpepper. Surviving family includes his son, Jon Shaw of Colorado City and daughter-in-law, Paige Shaw of Snyder; his grandchildren, Brady Standefer and his wife Christa, Kelsey Watts and her husband Cole, Laci Standefer, Kailea Shaw, Madison Shaw and Corbin Shaw; his great-grandchildren, Hadley Standefer, Hunter Watts, Laney Standefer and Boone Standefer. Da will be remembered in our hearts forever.
