Dan Morgan, 67, of Colorado City, passed away at the University Medical Center of Lubbock on Sunday, March 11, 2018. He was born on December 2, 1950 in Magnolia, Arkansas to John Frank Morgan and Margaret Ann Neeley Morgan. They moved to Colorado City, TX within the next year. He married Adele Wright on October, 11, 1975 in Center, TX. Dan was a very well-liked and respected member of Mitchell County for many years. Almost everybody knew him from his over 38 years working for Farm Bureau Insurance Company in Mitchell County. He was a man who believed in love for family and his community. He was a devoted husband, a great father, and the best grandfather a child could ask for and beloved friend to many. He enjoyed a good BBQ with family and friends, catching up on the latest developments in their lives and cracking a good joke just to get them laughing and feeling happy. He was a man who enjoyed country living, taking care of cattle, doing a bit of ranching and in his younger days participating in rodeos. In his spare time, he could be seen wood-working, making book shelves and toy boxes for his grandchildren and for those he held near and dear to his heart. Even after losing his vision he persevered, going to work each day, and finding new ways to enjoy his passions. He enjoyed listening to books, the Dallas Cowboys, and Friday night lights with the Wolves. Dan is survived by his loving wife Adele Morgan, his son Dan Morgan II and his wife Venisa of Lubbock and their children Jack, Reid and baby girl arriving soon, and by his daughter Anjanette Anders and husband Dustin of San Saba and their children Riley and Jaxon. He is also survived by his brother James Morgan of Colorado City and sister Susanne Morgan of Temple, as well as by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and by a brother John Frank Morgan Jr. A memorial service for Dan will be held on Friday, March 16th at 3 pm at Kiker Seale Funeral Home, and a visitation will be held on Thursday, March 15th from 6-8 pm at Kiker Seale Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to American Foundation for the Blind, https://www.afb.org/donate.aspx, Resource Development American Foundation for the Blind 2 Penn Plaza, Suite 1102 New York, NY 10121

i also have nothing but good and fond memories of dan. always helpful in helping me select a policy and helping me compare things i had no idea about. went in several times for a question and usually talked for at least 20 minutes---sometimes about insurance stuff but many times about people and things in c-city. always a nice easy to get along with person who will be missed.

As a teenager, I always got the best service when I pulled into the gas station where Dan worked. That was back in the day when you didn't pump your own gas (it was called "full service"!). I remember when Dan bought a GTO. Everyone came to see such an oddity - it was the first year GTO came out with NO chrome trim - it was different

Dan & the rest of the Morgan clan were some of my very first friends made after moving to Colorado City as a high school freshman. And to this day I smile when thinking of their loving acceptance for the 3 yrs I lived there....but Dan was the Special one. There will always be a reserved place in my heart for Dan!
My prayer for you, his family, is that God hold you All in the palms of His hands till you feel strong enuff to stand alone again. And may we all remember that we are better people having known Dan Morgan.

So sorry to hear of Dan's passing. I will miss him so much when I call Farm Bureau about an insurance question. He was a good friend to the Feaster family. COLORADO CITY HAS LOST ANOTHER WONDERFUL MAN.

Dan was always there when we needed him and lots of fun to talk to. It was great knowing him when we lived in Colorado City. After we moved to Dallas, we kept all of our insurance with him. When we bought a house, he needed digital photos of each side of it for homeowners insurance. We didn't have a digital camera so he mailed his camera to us. Who else would do that?! Only Dan! When our son totaled his car, Dan kept us calm as we made the drive from Dallas to the hospital in Austin. When our house was hit by a tornado, Dan handled everything for us. Sometimes, we`d call him just to chat. He always had a funny story or joke to share. Dan, we will miss you!

Condolences to the family. So hard to believe. I can't tell you how many times over the years I have called Dan for advice on a large diversity of subjects. Always was given sage advice and a great conversation. May you rest in peace, Dan. You will be sorely missed.
