She lived most of her life in Mitchell County and graduated from Colorado City High School. After school she soon went to work for Southwestern Bell. Dean was a good-hearted woman who always put her family first. She was a devoted wife of 65 years to her husband Douglas of Loraine and they married on December 9, 1950 after he finished college and playing 1 year of professional football. They enjoyed many years of wedded bliss, traveling while he was in the Airforce and spending the rest of their days in Mitchell county until he passed away in April 2016, and a loving mother to her daughter Dianne. She loved spending time with her daughter, especially shopping. The pair would often drop Don off where he wanted to go, then would spend the day out shopping in Sweetwater, making sure to hit up Vickies in Roscoe at some point during their trip. Prior to moving back to Colorado City they lived in Loraine, spending time together when neither of them were at work. Dean spent many years working for South Western Bell as a telephone operator. In her spare time she would work on needle point or spend time coloring ceramics. Dean is survived by her daughter Dianne Narrell of Colorado City, by nieces Leah Price of Abilene and Kim Mann of Colorado City, and by close family friends Lynn Palmore and Randall Palmore.
