

Edward Allen Blake, age 78, was called home by our Heavenly Father on Sunday, April 12, 2015. Ed was born September 7, 1936 in Eagle Creek, Illinois to his parents, Stella and Henry H. Blake. He is survived by his wife of forty years, Sendia Campbell Blake; two daughters: Armenda Scherle and husband, Dan of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Elicia Blake Leon and husband, Lee of Blackburn, Oklahoma; two sons: Marcus and wife, Teia of Louisville, Kentucky and Doug of Greenville, Illinois; two grandsons: PawPaw’s boy “Alek” Aleksander Blake Scherle and Lucas Kaleb Scherle; three granddaughters: Krystle Ladd, Monica Barneck and Grampa’s girl, KaylaLee Leon; and his great grandson, Sebastian Ian McIntyre; one sister, Alice Blake-Haller of Pell City, Alabama and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Stella Sweat Blake and Henry Herschel Blake.
Ed was the former manager of ALCO and retired in 2014 from Family Dollar in Colorado City. Ed loved Colorado City and was a very active in the community. Ed was a member of the Dorn Chapel UMC and served as Chairman of the Finance Committee, The Lions Club, The Museum Board, Main Street, Chamber of Commerce, Keep Colorado City Beautiful, and as a City Councilman. Ed was very proud to have been the 2012 Citizen of the Year.
Following cremation, a “Celebration of Ed’s Life” will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 333 Chestnut St, Colorado City. The date and time to be determined due to out of state family members.
