

Eloise Christine Crawford, 96 of Lubbock, formerly of Colorado City passed away peacefully in the Mackenzie Court Assisted Living Center in Lubbock on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 with her loving family by her side.
She was born on September 12, 1929 in Tree City Louisiana to Samuel and Nettie Jernigan Hunt.
Eloise was a good Christian woman who believed in living by God’s rule, to love God, love family, and to treat all people with the kindness and love they deserve. She was a mother figure to everyone who knew her. She enjoyed cooking, especially catfish, which was her best dish. While she did work many jobs over the years her heart was at home, being the best wife, mother, and grandmother that she could be. In her spare time she loved to crochet, putting together jigsaw puzzles, and doing anything she could to keep her mind sharp. Her legacy of love and kindness will be passed down for generations to come.
Eloise is survived by her Children Randall Crawford and wife Kaye of Lubbock, Carolyn Crawford of Lubbock, and Linda Cook of San Antonio, by 6 grandchildren 8 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Jackie Whalin of Midland and by a host of nieces and nephews and by a church family who loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents Samuel and Nettie Hunt, by her husband Fred Crawford and by sisters Mary Helen Hughes and Irma Dean Peak.
A visitation for Eloise will be held at the First Assembly of God Church in Colorado City on Friday, August 14th from 10:00 am to 10:30 am with a Celebration of Life to begin at 11:00 am, burial will follow in the Colorado City Cemetery
