

George was born on January 13, 1949 in Roscoe, TX to George Moody and Sarah Ward. He was a lifelong resident of the Colorado City/Snyder TX area.
As a child he was surrounded by extended family. George was a veteran of the US Army, serving during the Vietnam War and also serving in the Reserves. On April 26, 1973 he married Linda Proctor in Colorado City, TX. He built his career in the Oil Industry as a successful Roustabout Leader and was forced into early retirement due to his illness in 1994. In his spare time he was active within the community helping family and friends with property and yard maintenance. He enjoyed outdoor activities and coffee breaks with friends. George was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Colorado City. He was a loving devoted husband and proud father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by many.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Linda Ward of Colorado City TX. Two daughters, Jamie and husband Russell Brown Jr of Merkel TX. Melinda and husband Joey Creek of Snyder TX. Seven grandchildren, Krissy and Cody Thomas, of Colorado City TX, Brittany and husband Todd Womack Jr of Colorado City TX, Trey and Shelby Brown of Merkel TX, Zackary Potter and Ethan Creek of Snyder TX. Three great-grandchildren, Joann and Kassie Leverett of Colorado City TX, and Bryson Ward of Colorado City TX.
He proceeded in death by his parents, George Moody and Sarah Ward, and one daughter Amy Ward Thomas.
A visitation will be held at Kiker-Seale Funeral Home in Colorado City, TX on Monday, March 16, 2015, between 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be held at Calvary Baptist Church in Colorado City TX, on Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at 2pm. Paul Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Snyder Cemetery in Snyder TX.
