Isabel M. Salazar, 62, Colorado City went to dance in heaven with her husband Joe on January 13, 2021. She was born on December 21, 1958 in Celaya Gto Mexico to Guadalupe Alfaro and Maria Teresa Yreta Alfaro and passed away in Lubbock, Texas. Isabel was a spunky, loving woman who loved to have a GOOD TIME. She was a good mother and a great-grandmother, anytime you needed her she was there for her grandbabies. She was an amazing cook, often cooking dinner on Sundays for family get-togethers. There was rarely a family get-together that she wouldn’t be at when she was able, and she always had something to eat when she came. While her native tongue was Spanish Isabel learned English the best she could to communicate, which in part was thanks to her favorite in-laws Kim and Ray. Her children did their best to keep up with her Spanish but once in a while her tones would make what she came out came out in a manner she didn’t intend. Family was Isabel’s main priority, if you were one of her children’s significant other you quickly became her child as well, she even helped to raise her youngest sister, who grew up as if she was one of her own. In her spare time she enjoyed dancing, listening to Rock-N-Roll and her Spanish music as well as traveling and going on vacation with family. Her kind, loving soul and fun, free spirit will be cherished by those that loved her. She will forever be remembered as one of the best Lela that a grandchild could have, and her children will smile from all of the fond memories made. Isabel is survived by her sons James Salazar and wife Kim of Colorado City and Joe Salazar and wife Cassandra of Abilene, by daughters Eulalia Maria Salazar Neu and husband Richard of Colorado City, Marisol Ryan and husband Ray of Colorado City, and Isabel Salazar of Colorado City, by an adopted son Gabriel Salazar and wife Glenda Rivera, by grandchildren Kelly, Sierra, Autumn, Toby, Jake, Joseph, Raylynn, Lane, Joe III, Christian, Ian, Marisol, Leonidas, Kiari, Jaylen, Anthony, Thomas, Gabriel Jr, Uriah, and Kendall, and by great-grandchildren Ida Mae, Liam, Lucas, Lincoln, Ezekiel, Ava, Alyson, Oaklyn, Brooks, and Scarlett. Also surviving are her brothers Guadalupe Alfaro of Mexico and Moses Alfaro of Mexico and her sisters Yolanda Vasquez of Colorado City, Maria Elena Olguin of Dallas, Rosa Alfaro of Utah, Teresa Alfaro of North Dakota, and Mary Lou Alfaro of Colorado City. She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband Joe Salazar, by her brother Pablino Alfaro and by her infant granddaughter Forrest Neu. A funeral service for Isabel will be held in the Kiker Seale Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jackie Brem officiating on Tuesday, January 19th at 2pm with burial to follow in the Mitchell County Cemetery. The service will be livestreamed on Kiker Seale Funeral Home’s Facebook Page but the family requests that guests do not share the stream. Pall Bearers will be Toby Salazar, Jake Connell, Joseph Connell, Joe Salazar III, Joshua Salazar, Ethan Salazar, and Anthony Rivera, Honarary Pall Bearers will be Ian Salazar, Lane Ryan, Thomas Rivera, Uriah Salazar, and Gabriel Salazar Jr. Isabel’s visitation will be held on Monday, January 18th from 6-8 pm Those wishing to share a memory are encouraged to do so by visiting www.kikerseale.com
