Mr. James Edward “Ed” Beaty, age 78, of Loraine, died Tuesday in a Lubbock hospital. Per his wishes, he is being cremated and a Memorial Service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, May 9, 2015 in the Kiker-Seale Funeral Home Chapel.
Ed was born July 17, 1936 in Loraine to Allen and Leila Gather Beaty and had been a lifelong resident. He was retired from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice as a Correctional Officer. He was a member of the First Methodist Church in Loraine and a veteran of the US Army during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by a daughter, Tabitha Skiba of Sweetwater; a son, Jay and wife, Renee Beaty of Loraine; two sisters: Joyce Sheppard of Corpus Christi and Diane Seaton of Corsicana; nine grandchildren Jonathon Vasquez, Jamian Skiba, DJ Skiba, Tyler Skiba, Vinny Skiba, Eddie Skiba, Briann Beaty, Tanner Beaty and Mason Beaty and one great grandchild, Makenzin Vasquez.
