She was born on January 22, 1931 in Jewett, Texas to Edward and Cresencia Rocha Gonzales. Josie was a woman who loved her Lord, loved her family, and loved to help others. She was a member of Plainview Church of Christ in Colorado City. Many in the area knew her from the years she spent working at the Claxton Lodge and at the Loraine Manor. In her spare time she loved reading her Bible (daily), spending time with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren who she cherished dearly, going out in the yard and taking care of her flowers and quilting. She was a great wife and a loving mother. Her warm embraces, humbled spirit, and quiet smile will be cherished by many. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Yruegaz, by her parents Cresencia Roach Gonzalez and Edward Gonzalez, by her son in laws Jerry Rankin and Frank Costabile and by her 9 siblings. A private family burial service will be held in the Loraine Cemetery. Visitation and a celebration of Josie’s life will be held at a later date and time when limited gathering regulations are lifted. Cousins Betty, Mary and families. My heart is broken at the loss of Tia Josie. The ache in my heart will always stay as she was the last sibling of a past generation not to be forgotten. I am so glad I had the opportunity to see her last October 2019. I have fond childhood memories that will be cherished, and her memory will live on in my heart forever. May the lord give you both strength and comfort during this tough time of grieving. Love you ALL! Yolanda and Jay Iding ( daughter of Enrique and Beatriz Gonzales)

Grandma is how I knew Josie, A loving heart and warm sole. She was always so kind and sweet to me as I'd catch her sitting in the vehicle around town. She always smiled and had kind words to say. She always put a smile on my face. She loved her family and all the kids around. I had the pleasure of coaching her grandaughter Nikki in softball a few years. The team all called Josie Grandma. She was always a big supporter of the team. Nikki loved Grandma's appearance knowing She was always rooting for her and the team.
Fond memories of Grandma will always be in our hearts.
Heaven received an Angel named Grandma.
We will forever remember her loving heart.
Our Condolences to the Family and friends.
Rest now in the Lord's loving Arms Grandma Josie.
The Yanas Family
Stephanie, Mario, and Samantha.

Betty and Mary Lou my deepest condolences.
I want you two to know how deeply Josefa’s transition impacts me. To me she represented a connection to Mom, grandma and my aunts. She is the last of their friends to crossover.
To me she was a role model as a Hispanic girl she showed me that we too could be whatever we wanted in the workforce. She had her handsome loving husband and only 2 children and she always looked like our mothers only looked when going to church. Thank you Betty for always allowing me a peek into how your mom was doing. I will miss seen her beautiful face.
Josefa Rest In Peace. Say hello for me to your mom la hermana Gonzales, your sister Dona Tila to your nieces and nephews Esperanza, Ninfa, Jessie and Jerry and your friends my mom Inez Espinoza, grandma Ramona Meraz and aunts Maggie and Willie Meraz.
Betty my prayers are with all the family especially you and Mary Lou. Love you my friend.

I have always had a special place in my heart for her since our first meeting over 28 years ago when I took care of her husband Frank at the Nursing Home in Loraine. I have come to know her children and many of her grandchildren through the years. She always had a smile on her face and a hug for me when I would see her. My love goes out to her family during this time. I shall cherish all the memories of her that I have. Much Love to Betty and Mary Lou.
