She was born on April 23, 1937, to Roy and Dessie Bobo Parum in Frost, Texas. She was married to the love of her life Cecil Hale on November 4, 1952, and the 2 spent 72 blissful years of marriage.
Joyce was a family woman above all else, while she did work here and there doing different jobs here and there her heart was at home raising her family according to God’s way and loving every minute of it. She was a loving wife and a great mother but an even better grandmother and great-grandmother. Over the years she spent countless days putting her family first and doing everything she could to help them, so it is no surprise that when needed most her granddaughter Jennifer and her husband Paul took her into their home to spend her remaining months filled with peace and love.
Joyce was a member of the Dorn Methodist Church and was a woman of God. In her younger years aside from raising her family she enjoyed league bowling, but as she got older, she enjoyed the huge family get-togethers and playing BINGO. While she may have passed from this life to the next, she will always be with the family in SPIRIT and her legacy will live on.
Joyce is survived by her husband Cecil Hale of Colorado City, a son Bill Hale and wife Rhonda of Midland, a daughter Becky Gray of Colorado City, daughter-in-law’s Delaine Hale of Colorado City, and Lisa Hale of Midland, by grandchildren LaDonna Towrey, Gary Hale, Clarissa Shaw, Glen Hale, Jennifer Fisette, Chris Gray, and Jon Gray as well as by many many great-grandchildren and a few great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Donald Parum and wife Vicky of San Angelo and Lucky Parum and wife Brenda of Midland, and by sisters Alice Davis of Clinton, South Carolina and Janie King of Minneola, Texas, as well as by a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Dessie Parum, by sons Lee Hale, Glen Hale, and Gary Hale, by brothers Wallace Parum, Kenneth Parum, and Eddie Parum, and by sisters Stella Green, Martha Baker, and Linda Hodges.
