She was married to Howard Bynum. She is preceded in death by her parents, Clifton and Mae Henderson, brother, Tharon Henderson and her husband of sixty-three years, Howard Bynum. She is survived by her children Dale Bynum and wife Vickie of New Braunfels, Texas and Fredda Stubblefield and her husband Dwayne of Carrollton, Texas. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Kip Bynum and wife Lori of Katy, Texas, Zach Bynum and wife Carley of Katy, Texas, Amy Jablonski and husband Jeff of Van Alstyne, Texas and Cade Stubblefield and wife Jill of Frisco, Texas. She is also survived by her fifteen great-grandchildren. Early on Friday morning January 4, 2013 she peacefully passed away in her sleep but awoke at that moment in heaven where she is rejoicing with her Lord and her loved ones who have gone on before. Sug was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved her family dearly. Until her health failed she was active in helping others and made regular trips to Kristi Lee Manor to take magazines and visit the “old” folks. She loved her church and attended regularly, singing in the choir and being Sunday school director for her Bible study class. In addition to being a faithful wife and loving mother Sug was a worker all her life doing many jobs including being a waitress at the Loraine drug store soda fountain, teller at the City National Bank, clerk at Max Berman’s department store, helping run the Lakeside Lodge fishing camp, office assistant at Colorado junior high school, checking groceries at Fuller Foods, helping bake and working the counter at Henderson bakery, and working at Dr. Gene Steakley’s dentist office for many years before she retired. Sug loved people and never met a stranger. She had many friends.
The family wishes to thank all her dear friends for visiting her over the last year. Thanks also to Dr. Dee Roach and the staff of Mitchell County Hospital for their kind and caring treatment of her over the last few years. Finally a very special thanks to the staff at Kristi Lee Manor who lovingly cared for her and met her needs with tenderness and compassion. You are appreciated so very much!
The family has requested that memorial contributions be given to First Baptist Church of Colorado City or a charity of your choice.
