Juanita I “Nita” Carver, 89, of Colorado City went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 after a brief stay at the Mitchell County Hospital in Colorado City. She was born on January 12, 1931 in Booneville Arkansas to Mart and Mary Gilmore Bradshaw. Nita was a woman who enjoyed the things that were most important in life. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Colorado City where she attended faithfully for many years. Her life’s work consisted of being the best mother and grandmother she could be, making sure to always make time for them, especially the grandchildren. Nita was a very outgoing woman who never met a stranger and who would never shy away from the opportunity to talk. She was known around town as one of the 3 musketeers, and often could be seen out shopping or socializing at their reserved table at Dairy Queen with Marie Boyd and Hazel Sheen. When she wasn’t out on the town she could be seen enjoying quiet time, sewing, cooking, sitting on her front porch watching the animals running around or having her grandchildren over for a visit. Nita is survived by her sons Rick Carver and wife Cecelia of Colorado City and Benny Carver and wife Elaine of Wakom, Texas, and by her grandchildren Christina Gordon and husband Richard of Orange, Texas, Justin Carver and wife Candice of Sweetwater, Benjamin Carver of Haughton, Louisiana, and Carey Carver and wife Amy of Sweetwater. She is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and by a sister Amay Fore of Strong Arkansas, as well as by a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and by her husband Ed in 2016. A funeral service for Nita will be held on Friday, August 28th at 10 am in the Kiker Seale Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Sammy Elliott officiating, burial will follow in the Colorado City Cemetery. The family will be present for a visitation on Thursday night August 27th from 6-8 pm at Kiker Seale Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers please consider a memorial contribution in her name to the Calvary Baptist Church of Colorado City. Those wishing are encouraged to share a memory by visiting www.kikerseale.com
