She was born to Bacilio and Antonia Arellano Arenas on June 12, 1946 in Loraine, Texas.
Janie was a caring gentle woman who was devout in her Catholic Faith and loved her Lord with all her heart. She was a member of Saint Ann’s Catholic Church in Colorado City and a member of the Guadalupana’s, seldom missing Mass, but when she did, she watched Mass on Channell EWTV. Janie was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who strived to make her house a home filled with love and joy. Together with her sisters she enjoyed preparing countless family meals. Many in the community would go to Fuller’s even when they didn’t really need anything just so they could talk to her when she was working. In her spare time, she enjoyed greeting everyone with a smile, crocheting, and doing needle point. She will be dearly missed not just by family but by the community she loved and served each day as a cashier.
Janie is survived by her husband Pete Luera of Colorado City, by her sons Daniel Luera of Colorado City, Sam Luera of San Angelo, and Joseph Luera and wife Bobbie Jo of San Angelo, and by daughter Rebecca Buckner and husband Patrick of Sweetwater, as well as by grandchildren, Krista, Giovanni, Damian, Jonathan, Skye, Benjamin, September, Sierra C., Sierra S., Mariah, and Cassedy, and by great-grandchildren Cecilia, Jonathan Jr., , Ezekiel, Santana, Izabella, Jasiiah, Jazzy, Atticus, Arius, Alinity, Kyla, Melonie, Alena, and Azien.
